Loss Mitigation

The extensive experience of business interruption losses in Singapore means that we are in a position to provide advice to the Insured on business recovery plans in order to help the business recover as quickly as possible. Such measures could include rental of alternative premises, airfreighting of critical equipment and sub-contracting certain operations. Our services include calculating whether such measures are economically feasible.

Major Losses

Major business interruption losses dealt with by our Singapore-based staff include the following:-

  • A US$30 million interruption claim involving earthquake damage at a semi-conductor plant in Taiwan which occurred in 1999.
  • A S$5 million interruption loss as a result of a fire at an animal feed manufacturer's premises in Singapore in 1999.
  • A S$3 million interruption as a result of a fire at a cold storage warehouse and food processor in Singapore in 1998.
