CRAWFORD MOTOR provides the following services which are designed to meet the market’s need for proactive, independent services performed with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.
Independent damage assessment. Independent loss adjusters in Singapore do not typically perform damage assessments for motor vehicle claims. At the request of clients, Crawford hired and trained engineers to assess motor vehicle damage claims. Clients report that Crawford has brought heightened professionalism and integrity to the damage-assessment process. For Own Damage and Third Party motor surveys, we conduct thorough inspections of the damaged vehicles to identify the damaged components, assess whether the components required replacement or may be repaired and identify pre-existing damage. We check for consistency of damage with account of accident and location of accident as reported. We check pricing of replaced components. We conduct market value and scrap value checks of damaged vehicles to establish whether the vehicles are within economical repair. We also conduct direct negotiations with workshops for the repair cost and loss of use on behalf of Insurers, including procuring the necessary authorisation to act forms, release forms, rental bills etc
Investigation work. For our investigation work, we interview drivers, passengers, Third Parties, eye-witnesses and related parties to arrive at an assessment of the liability of the driver of the Insured’s vehicle. We visit scene of accidents in Singapore and Malaysia to check the damage, debris and blood stains, tyre marks, road conditions, road markings, road signage and hazards, visibility, obstruction of views, traffic light sequences and timings, eye-witnesses etc. We also conduct road measurements and inspect the damaged vehicles or photographs of the damaged vehicles. We attempt to procure photographs taken at the accident scene from the parties concerned or from the Traffic Police. We apply for the Third Party reports and eye-witnesses’ reports or particulars, sketch plans, photographs of scenes from the Traffic Police or GIARMC.
We seek early clarification from the Traffic Police on suspected drink driving cases for quicker decisions on the authorisation of repairs.
We contact Third Parties or visit them at home or at hospitals to establish the extent of injuries sustained and their full particulars, including income and dependencies. We also conduct proactive settlements for property damage and injuries sustained on behalf of Insurers with reference to precedent case law. We obtain their consent to apply for Third Parties’ medical reports and then obtain the necessary medical reports. If appropriate and authorised by our Principal we arrange for interim payments to Third Parties where requested to provide funds for payment of medical bills.
We also conduct negotiation of settlements with individuals, workshops and lawyers for property damage and injuries on behalf of Insurers.
Claims settlement. We also provide a one-stop claims settlement service to Motor Insurers for own damage claims, Third Party property damage and Third Party bodily injury claims. Estimates for own damage claims are forwarded directly by the workshops to Crawford for prompt surveys to reduce vehicle downtime.
Pro-active approach is adopted for Third Party property damage and Third Party bodily injury claims to reduce outstanding claims expeditiously and cut down on legal costs.
BOLA Recovery. We undertake to perform recovery action for Insurers against other Insurers, under the BOLA scheme on a no-cure-no-pay basis, subject to certain conditions.
We currently have an experienced team of five investigators with a total of 120 years of service with the Singapore Traffic Police Force and a team of six qualified and experienced motor surveyors.
We aim to provide a proactive and comprehensive service to Motor Insurers in Singapore with the overall objective of reducing claim costs and outstanding claim files.
