The Healthcare Management (HCM) services were launched on 1 March 2004. HCM helps in reducing medical insurance claim cost through rehabilitation and vocational programmes conducted by our Registered Nurses. HCM not only benefits the insurance companies but also the employers and the employees:-

Insurers:-

• Avoid paying out unnecessary medical expenses
• Reduce or avoid expensive legal costs
• Reduce payment for temporary and permanent disability

Employers:-

• Reduce financial losses caused by employees absence from work due to injury
• Reduce malpractice/false claims
• Reducing the problems of re-training other workers pending the return of the injured worker to work

Employees:-

• Promote early return to work
• Shorter rehabilitation

A specialist service which:-

• assesses the physical status and behaviour of the injured worker
• facilitates the transfer of information between the healthcare provider, employer and employee
• formulates an action plan based on the injured worker's needs and employer's interest
• observes, monitors and reports on the progress of the injured worker's claim
• provides proactive intervention, as required, to move the case forward
• communicates appropriately and effectively with all parties involved in the case namely, the injured worker, doctor, employer, insurer and other healthcare professionals
• implements cost-reduction strategies and recommends options based upon findings
• focuses on a safe and early return-to-work outcome and expedites case closure

HCM is particularly useful in cases of serious injury such as spinal injury, amputation, prolonged recovery condition, lack of clear medical diagnosis, "doctor shopping" and conflicting medical reports.
